quarantine camp

In the concentration camps, newly arrived prisoners lived for days and weeks in "quarantine," to isolate them from the other prisoners. In this way, people who already were ill upon arrival at the camp could be weeded out, that is, exterminated. The "quarantine" area was set up in certain blocks or barracks.
